Disabling in Settings

    Open Google Maps on your iPhone or iPad. It’s the multicolored map icon with a “G” and a red pushpin. You’ll usually find it on the home screen.

    Tap the menu. It’s at the top-left corner of the screen.

    Tap Navigation. It’s the first option.

    Tap Muted under “Sound & Voice.” This prevents Google Maps from speaking aloud turn-by-turn directions when navigating to a location.

Disabling During Navigation

    Open Google Maps on your iPhone or iPad. It’s the multicolored map icon with a “G” and a red pushpin. You’ll usually find it on the home screen.

    Begin navigating to a location. Do this by selecting a location and then tapping Start.
